Before the start of every PKL season, an auction takes place. In which every team buys some players to build up their squad according to their best analysis.
But even before the auction, all those players who are not required in the squads anymore are being released by the 12 franchises of the Pro Kabaddi League. All these released players will be added to the auction pool and can be bought by any of the 12 teams during the two days auction. While some players got retained by the teams before the auction. After that, all those released players along with the others will go under the hammer except the retained ones.
Before PKL Auction Season 10 (2023), a total number of 169 players were released by all 12 teams. On the other hand, a total number of 111 players were retained by all 12 teams before the PKL auction in 2023. The player’s auction of Pro Kabaddi League 2023 season 10 was held in Mumbai from October 9th to 10th. A total number of 450 players (domestic and international) went under the hammer.
