Before the start of every PKL Season, an auction takes place. Every team buys the best players according to their analysis to balance their squads. These players that are highly required in the squads for the upcoming season and are retained by the 12 teams of Vivo Pro Kabaddi.

All 12 teams ahead of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 10 Player Auction retained a Total number of 84 players before the PKL Auction in 2023. Out of that 83 retained players, 24 are Retained Young Players, 22 are Elite Retained Players, and 38 are Existing New Young Players.

The three-time champions Patna Pirates have the most Elite Retained Players (4) and their all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh is the only overseas player retained by any PKL team ahead of PKL Season 10 2023.

All the franchisees are only allowed to retain up to 6 players under the Elite Retained Players category and as many as only 4 New Young Players (NYPs) under specific conditions in every PKL season.

All players that are not retained are set to go under the hammer for a two-day auction in Mumbai from October 9th to 10th.

In this year’s auction, the non-retained players from all categories the Domestic, Overseas, and New Young Players (NYPs) groups will be divided into four categories: A, B, C, and D. The players are then subdivided as ‘All-Rounders’, ‘Defenders’ and ‘Raiders’ within these categories.

The base prices for each of the categories are:

  • Category A – INR 30 Lakhs
  • Category B – INR 20 Lakhs
  • Category C – INR 10 Lakhs
  • Category D – INR 6 Lakhs.

The total Salary Purse that will be available to each franchisee for its squad for PKL auction Season 10 is INR 5 Crores. The Vivo PKL Season 10’s Player Pool has been expanded to 500+ including 24 players from the top 2 teams of the Khelo India University Games 2023.

The Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 10 Players Auction 2023 will be held in Mumbai from October 9th to 10th. A total number of 500+ players (domestic and international) will go under the hammer and the 12 teams will battle to sign them in.
