The Kabaddi team of Jaipur Pink Panthers (JPP) is based in Jaipur, the pink city of India. It became a franchise of the Pro Kabaddi League in season 1 (2014). They became the PKL champions in 2014 and 2022 by defeating U Mumba and Puneri Paltan. They were the Pro Kabaddi Vijeta of seasons 1 & 9. They were also the runner-up of season 4 in 2016 against Patna Pirates. The team plays its home matches at Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The modern format of the Pro Kabaddi consists of 137 matches with two eliminator rounds (eliminator 1 and 2), two semi-final matches, and the final match. This tournament will be played in the double-robin-round format where every team will play 22 matches in the league stages.
The top six teams will qualify for the knockouts while the four teams at bottom of the qualified knockouts will face each other in the eliminator rounds (1 and 2). After that, the winners of the eliminator rounds will face the top two qualified teams of the knockouts in the semi-finals. Afterward the final will be played to win the Pro Kabaddi League championship.
How Does the Pro Kabaddi Points Table Work?
The Pro Kabaddi points table works in the following way:
- Every team will be rewarded 5 points for a victory.
- Every team will be rewarded 3 points for a tie.
- If the margin of defeat is equal to or less than seven points, then 1 point will be rewarded to the losing team.
- If the margin of defeat is more than seven points, then no points will be rewarded to the losing team.
